Take a look at today's party tables and
you'll notice one major trend... single servings. I first started seeing them in restaurants
such as chocolate mousse presented in a shot glass. They're the perfect size for me because I
usually only want a couple bites and I have no one to split a dessert with
since my husband doesn't like sweets (total craziness, I know).
Single servings make sense for everyday
events too and can add visual appeal to your table. Why not serve popcorn in snack cups instead
of having tons of little hands reaching into the bowl (with my boys there's no
telling where those hands have been)? Serving
salads in small individual bowls can eliminate the need for extra serving
pieces and make it easier for guest to serve themselves. Plus, individual servings are just so darn cute
and for someone like me, who's slightly OCD, it's fun arranging them in
organized little rows.
So think about the menu of your next party.
Is there a dish that might be better
served as individual servings? If so,
have fun with it! There are tons of
options to choose from and you might surprise yourself with your creativity.
This is such a great idea! How many times have we needed portion control because we don't want to overeat or are trying to control how much dessert we eat. This could really come in handy around Christmas holiday parties.
