Anyone Can Host

Pintrest-driven parties can make the idea of hosting an event daunting.  Don't get me wrong, I love Pintrest as much as anyone, but it doesn't take a lavish spread from the latest magazine to throw an amazing party.  With a little creativity and some basic design knowledge, anyone can create a fun and exciting event on a budget.  With two little ones (my oldest is two) I'm limited on time and resources, but I love making each event I host special.  I truly enjoy the process and am hopeful that my posts will help you create a fun and memorable party too.  Just remember, if you're relaxed and enjoying yourself then your guests will too and that's the most important part.  So cheers! Let the party begin!

  1. Really looking forward to all of your holiday party hosting ideas with all the holidays at hand! And we have fall football season with all the football parties. You really have to be on your party toes in SEC country with all the rivalries!

  2. Do you have any easy decorating ideas for a 50th birthday party. We are planning one for a friend.

  3. An early Happy Birthday to your friend, how exciting!! As for decorating ideas, one my favorite things to add to a party table is the food tents. It's such a small inexpensive touch, but can really add some personality to your menu. For example, I'm currently planning a children's book themed baby shower where the menu includes Green Eggs and Ham (green deviled eggs) and a Peter Rabbit's veggie platter. Another inexpensive decorating idea is to serve drinks and menu items in creative ways. For example, serve parfaits in champagne glasses for a brunch or, instead of the traditional vegetable platter, serve carrot and celery sticks in individual shot glasses (purchase 25 for $1 at the Dollar Tree). Lastly, tissue paper puffs can be a great decoration to hang or make into a centerpiece. You can make 1-2 puffs from one package of tissue paper. Attach fishing line to hang from the ceiling or attach a wooden dowel and place in a vase for a brilliant centerpiece. I hope some of these ideas were helpful and you have a fun and fabulous 50th birthday party with your friend
