In an effort to stay one step ahead and use my time effectively, I went ahead and set up the dining room table for our intimate Thanksgiving dinner. I do realize I'm a little silly to have the table already prepared two days before Thanksgiving, BUT I can cross it off my to do list and it's one less thing to stress over. Plus, we won't be using the table tomorrow anyways, because I've already warned my husband that I'm not cooking dinner the night before Thanksgiving. An entire day of cooking is exhausting at best, and that's assuming there aren't any mishaps. Inevitably, there's always one. The best yet was the pecan pie that I placed on the car roof as we were leaving the house to see my in-laws. I didn't think about it again until we were thirty miles down the road. By then my pie had been slung from the car and was laying on the side of the road, somewhere between Alabama and Mississippi. Needless to say, I need the night before Thanksgiving to mentally prepare myself for what's ahead. Luckily, I was able to bribe my husband with some yummy BBQ from a new restaurant down the street.
